The public comment period for the 2014 UC Cooperative Extension positions call has been completed, as of July 21. These comments are posted on the 2014 Call for Positions web page, and will be considered by the position review groups, UC ANR Program Council and Vice President Allen-Diaz. A diverse array of the Division's stakeholders actively participated in this process and we appreciate their interest and value their feedback.

I am pleased to announce that David Underwood has been appointed manager of Information Technology Infrastructure and David Krause has been appointed as manager of Web Development and Applications Programming, effective August 1, 2014. Both positions are based in Davis.
Underwood, who has served ANR since 1991, will be responsible for the Division's information processing, operating hardware and software, network communication and data network infrastructures. He and his team will also be responsible for assisting ANR employees with computer services and the help desk function. His customer service focus stands out in his career with the University.

In September, the Youth Science Literacy Program Team and the California Communities and Food Systems Program Team will meet and grant writing seminars will be offered. Travel funds are available for all of these meetings.
Program team leaders and workgroup chairs can schedule meetings by completing a short online request at http://ucanr.edu/sites/programteams.

ANR will be making additional travel support available for UCCE specialists to collaborate with UCCE advisors in FY 2014/15. With the level of funds available, each specialist may apply for up to $2,000 for FY 2014/15 (funds must be expended by June 30, 2015). These travel funds must be utilized by the UCCE specialists only and cannot be used for out-of-state travel.
Completing a short online survey is the only step in accessing these funds.
