For the past 18 months, UC ANR Academic Personnel Unit (APU) and the Staff Personnel Unit (SPU) have been working closely together to integrate the human resource services. This has been a very positive and successful process for the staff of the two units. The consolidated Academic and Staff Personnel units, under “one” Human Resource Service umbrella, will be more effective and efficient for the Division. The merger is effective October 1, 2105.

As announced in the April 8, 2014, ANR Update by UC ANR Vice President Barbara Allen-Diaz, UC ANR Academics and Non-represented Staff Employees will receive a 3 percent salary increase effective July 1, 2014. In the announcement, the vice president stated that guidelines would be forthcoming. Attached please find the 2014-15 3 percent salary increase guidelines for academics and non-represented staff.

A year ago Associate Vice President for Business Operations Kay Harrison Taber charged a new committee to guide the training coordination process, develop a comprehensive training calendar, and develop priority trainings for ANR academics and staff.
The committee is led by Linda Marie Manton of the Staff Personnel Unit, Kim Rodrigues of the Academic Personnel Unit, and Mike Poe from Communication Services and Information Technology. New Academic Personnel unit formed
The new Academic Personnel unit has been formed at Davis and is based in the ANR building. Kim Rodrigues, executive director, is leading the unit, which currently includes Carolyn Frazier, director; Andra Strads, analyst; David White, analyst; and Pam Tise, executive assistant.
The tasks they are working on currently include:
- Editing and updating e-books for discussion with Academic Assembly Council’s Personnel Committee.
- Reviewing and implementing APM 315 – Appointment and Promotion section dealing with clarifying expectations, career equity reviews, etc.
