I have a Passiflora edulis “Frederick” that’s producing fruit for the time. I have not noticed any butterflies and there are no holes on the leaves, but obviously the flowers are getting pollinated.

Zebra Longwings seem to enjoy my red passionflower vines. They have already flowered and fruited prior to me bringing them onto my property. Good to know about the honey bees. We have 30 acres with lots of host plants for Gulf Fritillaries...including fields of wild native passionflower vines and Lantana. Glad to know I plant the red passionflower vines now. Thanks for the info.

I have a red passion vine (in a large pot) on my back patio which is being used by Gulf Fritillary as host. Lots of caterpillars and eaten leaves...however, I haven't noticed the chrysalis stage anywhere on the trellis the vine is climbing. Should I be concerned that the caterpillars might not be making it to that stage? It is a fairly new plant, only 3-4 months in current location and it took about a month for the caterpillars to appear.

I have a lavender Passion flower vine. It has so many eggs, caterpillars and so many butterflies just flying out of the vine. It’s a beautiful and incredible experience. I was amazed at what was going on. I’ve had the vine for about a year and never noticed anything with it until now.
