Wow! It's one thing to quarantine citrus trees for HLB. I totally get it and support it. But restricting the movement of fruit and veggies? Banning the free exchange of home grown food between friends, families and neighbors? This is a bridge too far for me - it reeks of Nanny State over-reach. This will fail miserably, regular folks will never respect or obey this. In the long run, stuff like this will prove to be very counter-productive. Respect for law and order in general erodes when the enacted rules and laws become burdensome and are clearly in opposition to good common sense or oppressive to basic freedoms.
