AARGH!!! For the first time, we have roof rats this summer! Our dog Lucy sniffed one out in the fig tree and started barking like a lunatic! Then the tomatoes were being eaten and a few lemons. So far we have caught 3 in Victor traps (giant mouse traps). We think they are nesting in dense vines on a fence because the dogs are very interested in that area too. We have no attic, so that is not a potential entry. Now just waiting for the persimmons to ripen, and the rats will likely be joined by the raccoons!
