Power.
Power to the People.
Not Power to the Machines.
Anyone who has seen the Terminator movies knows 2 things:
#1- Our current governor is the greatest cyborg killer that will ever be created.
#2- If we let the machines get too powerful, they will end up taking over the planet and hunting humans for sport.
Personally, I'd like to avoid that ever happening. (you decide whether or not I am referring to both items.)
So it is up to us to keep the machines from being too powerful. And we do that by destroying the machines whenever we can. Here's some photographic evidence of our work. This server is going to that great colo rack in the sky,...

The UC Davis campus has made changes to their email system that will keep Eudora users from retrieving email.
Here is the notice from UC Davis computing (IET) (Boring alert!)

Hello Dear Readers!
Today I want to talk a tiny bit about the ANR Repository. Specifically, I want to mention the Special Library feature.
The Repository is home to 'a lot of digital stuff.' This stuff consists of photos, videos, PDF documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc. Anything you want to archive and/or make available to colleagues can go into the Repository. In fact, we have over 49,000 pieces of stuff in the Repository already.
So- what if you want a place to put your stuff...but you want to keep all your stuff together? What if you don't want your clients to need to sift through other people's stuff (which obviously isn't as good as yours)?

Do you care about your job?
I mean...do you really care? Is there something you do each day that makes you think, "Yes, this is part of ME. I am putting a little bit of myself into this job because it makes me feel good."
I hope so!
As the head of the I.T. and Web groups in ANR CSIT I really want to give my people a reason to care about their jobs. And the merit increases over the last few years just haven't been doing it.
So I want to put them in the driver's seat. I want to give them a way to have a voice in their worklife, to know that they really can make a difference.
So we have Personal Projects. These...
