Hilltop view of LREC citrus San Joaquin Valley citrus growers and the University of California Riverside established the Lindcove Research and Extension Center in 1959.
Research: 1-20 year old citrus plantings, open fields for planting, greenhouses, state-of-the-art computerized packline grading system, walk-in coolers, fruit quality lab with a titrator, general-use research lab, weather stations, a dormitory that sleeps 3-4 people, and high-speed connectivity.

Scientists conduct research projects at Lindcove REC such as evaluating new varieties, finding better ways to grow trees, and new ways to manage pests of citrus, avocado, walnut, olive and pomegranate trees.
The Research and Extension Center System (RECS) supports field research, education and extension activities by providing suitable environments including land, labor, facilities and support staff.
