How to obtain permission to use a photo

You can customize the attached sample letter and send it to the copyright holder of the material you wish to use. Note: It is an authors responsibility to pay any fees the copyright holder may require.

How to submit photographs for publication

Communication Services prefers digital files but will scan slides if necessary and return them to you. Submit each digital photo in a separate file (not in a Word or Powerpoint file). When naming the files, include the figure number and a key word describing the photo in the name.

What gets peer reviewed?

Peer review is required for any educational material that is published as a UC ANR product assigned an ANR number may be included in the ANR catalog This include publications, curriculum kits, videos, and CD-DVDs.

Logging in

Go to http://anr.expressacademic.org/login.php. Start by using the password and login name you were assigned when becoming an associate editor. Complete your contact information. Enter your user ID and your password as described above, and login.

Getting to know a submission

All submissions first enter the system to the attention of the editors of ANRs Manuscript FastTrackJim Downing and Linda Ribera. Whenever a manuscript is submitted, one of them assigns it to its appropriate subject area AE (using your "Reviewer topic category).

Selecting reviewers

When youre ready to select and assign peer reviewers to the manuscript, from your Associate/Guest Editor tasks page, click on the submission id#, and in the Submission Summary box at the top, click Select/assign reviewers. We have built our reviewer list up over time.

Review correspondence

The Manuscript FastTrack system generates automatic emails every time an action occurs to a submitted manuscript.

Resubmissions

One of the three recommendations reviewers (and ultimately, you) can make to authors is Declined, but recommend to rework and resubmit. In general, ANRs philosophy is to encourage its authors to share their expertise with clientele, not to build our rejection percentage.

When authors log in, they receive instructions about how to submit a manuscript. Note the last paragraph. Authors: Please submit your manuscript in Word if possible; both .doc and .docx extensions are acceptable.
