One of the activities at the Bohart Museum of Entomology open house, "Eight-Legged Encounters," set from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 25, will be a "Name-That-Spider-Species" contest, open to students 18 and under. The focus: a male trapdoor spider, a new species from the genus Promyrmekiaphila.

Lavender has been used for centuries for many purposes. Lavender flowers can be found in bath salts, teas, baked goods, oils, and other products. This workshop is an exploration of the history of lavender and it's uses, and tips for how to grow it successfully in your garden.

Conservation Agriculture Systems Innovation has been named the 2022 recipient of the Conservation Innovation Award by the Soil and Water Conservation Society, an international organization based in Ankeny, Iowa.

There's a lot of new trees going into the ground, both citrus and avocado. Especially avocados are getting tucked into lots of little corners. There's money to be made and maybe there will be in the future.
