About the Event
Join Yale researchers, UCCE, and CAL FIRE to learn about current research in the pygmy forest. These projects include exploring the impact of mycorrhizal fungi on resprouting shrubs, wood and soil nutrient stock across marine terraces, and how fire affects nutrient flux in decomposing wood.
What is the Jug Handle Pygmy Restoration and Research project?
The Jug Handle Pygmy Restoration and Research project brings together researchers from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Yale University, CAL FIRE, and UC Cooperative Extension to study ecological responses to common landowner management tools, such as prescribed fire and mastication. This project is an experimental effort to steward pygmy forest conditions while conducting novel research.
