UC Master Gardeners of Trinity County Training Course

The 2025 course for Shasta and Trinity Counties will be offered through Shasta College:

  • Wednesdays 8/20/25 - 12/3/25, 5:30 PM - 8:50 PM
  • In-person class at Redding Main Campus, or Live online class via Zoom
  • Hands-on lab workshop in Weaverville Saturday 10/25/25 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

This is the training course for the University of California (UC) Master Gardener Program. The course prepares horticulture enthusiasts to assist local communities in diagnosing plant problems and providing science-based information to keep home landscapes and the environment healthy. The University of California has provided the training materials used in the class to Shasta College.

Course topics include:

  • Soils, Fertilizers
  • Growing Vegetables, Native Plants
  • Plant Propagation
  • Pruning
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  • Weed Identification and Management
  • Plant Diseases
  • Vermiculture
  • Watering
  • And more

This course is required for anyone interested in obtaining a certification as a UC Master Gardener.
