Strategic Real Estate and Facility Development for UC ANR
The Real Estate and Facilities Development (REFD) Department serves as a dedicated professional resource for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources. The department oversees UC ANR real estate, facility development, and related operational functions across California.
REFD manages a broad range of services, including:
- Real estate acquisition and disposition
- Ground and building leases
- Property evaluation and site selection
- Facility development and construction coordination
- Entitlement and permitting support
- Asset and operational planning
- Compliance with University policies and procedures
The department works closely with UC ANR leadership, Research and Extension Center directors, Extension offices, and the University of California Office of the President to support projects that strengthen UC ANR’s statewide mission.
Supporting California’s Research & Extension Infrastructure
REFD is currently overseeing major revitalization efforts across several UC ANR Research and Extension Centers (RECs). These projects are designed to improve visibility, accessibility, public engagement, and support for both UC and non-UC researchers.
