The UC Master Gardeners of Imperial County offer free classes, workshops, and events throughout the year. Our programs are designed for home gardeners of all experience levels—whether you're just starting your first vegetable garden or you've been gardening in Imperial County for decades, there's something for you.
Our events include hands-on workshops on topics like harvesting, growing vegetables, composting, and water-wise landscaping. We also offer garden tours of local demonstration gardens and private gardens, plant sales featuring locally-adapted varieties, and seasonal classes on timely topics. Most of our workshops are free, though some specialized classes may have a small materials fee. Registration is required for most events to ensure we have adequate space and supplies.
Community Projects
The UC Master Gardener Program of Imperial County continues to grow strong in 2025, bringing the joy of gardening and the benefits of hands-on education to our community. Through partnerships across the valley, our volunteers have delivered free community gardening workshops to learners of all ages—from schoolchildren to seniors.
