Shital Parikh is a seasoned Master Gardener, earning the title in 2014 along with her Master Composter certification. Driven by a deep passion for horticulture, she has devoted her life to cultivating food, pollinator gardens, and native plants. For over a decade, Shital has grown plants from seeds, producing over 500 plants each season to use and share. What began as a small hobby in her living room window eventually outgrew the space, prompting her husband to gift her a greenhouse to accommodate.

When COVID had us all talking to our plants, Shital helped sprout the Del Mar Mesa Garden Club and presides as the President of Friends of Del Mar Mesa, a nonprofit organization for habitat preservation and education. Furthermore, her commitment to ecological preservation is evident through her involvement in the San Diego Biodiversity Task Force.

Shital is a humble advocate for sustainable gardening, planting seeds of knowledge, to make the world a greener place, one school and community at a time. Her journey is rooted in lifelong  learning and a commitment to a blossoming future.
