Madera Master Garder Carol

Why Give to the Madera Master Gardener program.

As fall settles in and our gardens grow quieter, it’s the perfect moment to celebrate how UC Master Gardeners helped our communities flourish this year. Because of volunteers like  Master Gardeners, we’ve had an extraordinary season of learning, connection, and service. Together, UC Master Gardeners contributed:

  • 514,730 volunteer hours across California, moments spent teaching, listening, inspiring, or simply offering help to someone who needed it.

  • UC Master Gardeners delivered workshops, hands-on activities, classes and community events, creating thousands of opportunities for people to learn, connect, and feel welcomed into the world of gardening.

  • This year, 68% of participants reported adopting right-plant, right-place sustainable gardening practices, 78% are monitoring for insects, weeds or diseases in their gardens, and 72% said they started to garden using plants that attract and support pollinators because of what they learned from you.

This year also marked a special milestone for our statewide community. We began the first steps of our statewide rebrand, refreshing our look to reflect the vibrancy and relevance of our work today. And as we close our 45th anniversary year, it’s impossible not to feel proud of the legacy you’ve shaped — and excited for what the next 45 years will bring.

Thank you, MG volunteers for showing up week after week with curiosity, generosity, and joy. Thank you for the gardens you support, the neighbors you encourage, and the communities you strengthen. You make this program what it is — and what it will continue to grow into.

Wishing you a season filled with warmth, rest, and appreciation. Donate to Madera Master Gardeners
