VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
HELP US PROTECT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA’S OAK TREES
ONE HIKE AT A TIME.
We’re excited to invite you to participate in the 2026 Spring GSOB Blitz, taking place April 22–May 22, 2026!
A GSOB Blitz is a community-powered effort to detect and map goldspotted oak borer (GSOB) infestations. With your help, we’ll survey oak trees across Southern California to identify where this pest is spreading…and how bad the damage is.
Even better? It’s a great way to learn, explore, and connect with nature... while making a real impact. No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!!
We’re also thrilled to share the launch of the new GSOB Blitz Dashboard, developed by our Cal Fire partners. Participating groups will be able to view their survey results in near real time—an exciting new tool to support learning and impact!
Please take a moment to explore the updated GSOB Blitz webpages and let us know how you might be interested in supporting this effort.
We hope you’ll join us for another impactful GSOB Blitz season!
