Common Diseases of Fruit and Landscape Trees
About the Event
Presenter: Dr. Akif Eskalen, Professor of Cooperative Extension in Plant Pathology
Spots, wilting, dieback, discoloration, and unusual growth do not always mean that a plant has an infectious disease. This talk introduces Master Gardeners to a practical, science-based approach for recognizing symptoms and signs, distinguishing diseases from environmental or cultural problems, and understanding what can and cannot be diagnosed by sight. Participants will learn how to examine plants, collect useful samples, use simple magnification tools, and determine appropriate next steps.
