Anne M Megaro

Government and Community Relations Director; Interim Director, UC ANR Policy Institute


Anne is the Government and Community Relations Director for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Interim Director for the UC ANR Policy Institute. She began her work in public policy when she was competitively selected for the AAAS Science and Technology Fellowship in Washington, D.C. She continued her career in public policy as the Consultant to the California State Senate Committee on Agriculture where she was responsible for writing clear, comprehensive, and non-partisan bill analyses as well as collaborating with legislators, stakeholders, government agencies, and the public. With the desire to serve as a liaison between scientists and government entities on issues involving agriculture, Anne accepted her current position where she enjoys increasing awareness and support for UC ANR with government officials and community leaders throughout the state and in D.C. She also serves as a resource for effective science-to-policy communication and guides academics and staff in nurturing relationships with government officials. Anne is an alumnus of Class 52 of the California Agriculture Leadership Program. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science and Management from the University of California, Davis and Ph.D. in Animal Science from Cornell University.
