This course aims to build hope for our planet's future while gaining practical skills to take meaningful climate action in your community. We combine online learning with hands-on field experiences to understand climate change, earth systems, and local ecosystems.

Description: This course aims to build hope for our planet's future while gaining practical skills to take meaningful climate action in your community. We combine online learning with hands-on field experiences to understand climate change, earth systems, and local ecosystems.

8 Online Classes on Tuesdays (6-8pm)
3 Saturday Fieldtrips (Oct. 3, 24, and Nov. 7)

- Learn about rangeland stewardship and oak woodland research.
- Coastal Ecosystems (Oct 24)
- Learn from about urchin and abalone brood stock program, kelp forests, and marine mammals.
- Forest Ecosystem and Fire Ecology (Nov 7)
- Learn about forest health, insect identification and beneficial fire.
- Water Systems (Nov 7)
- Learn about climate adaptations through dams and let’s identify riverine geomorphology!
