About the Event

Discover the numerous advantages of container gardening from UC Master Gardeners Pat Kramer and Troy Weakley. They will guide you through selecting the right containers, choosing the best soil and amendments, and exploring various tomato varietals and veggies that thrive in this setup. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a beginner, you’ll leave with valuable tips and inspiration to create your own flourishing container garden. All programs at the Library are free. Supported by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.

UC Master Gardener Presenters:
Pat Kramer: Pat is a retired oncology nurse and a passionate gardener who has been tending her Noe Valley garden for 30 years. In 2024, Pat completed the UC Master Gardener program. Pat loves all aspects of gardening, including growing succulents, pollinators, and edibles such as herbs, container tomatoes and Meyer lemons.
Troy Weakley: Troy is a recent UC Master Gardener graduate who has been gardening since he was seven years old, when his mother gave him his first garden plot. He specializes in native pollinators including everything needed to support the plants. In his garden, all plants are grown from seed.
