From Soil and Seeds to Nutritious Vegetables: A How-To Guide
About the Event
UC Master Gardener Nick Landolfi will describe the basics of healthy soil and a plant friendly environment, seed germination and seedling care, transplanting of seedlings and care of growing plants, as well as vegetable harvesting and post-harvesting garden care. A variety of techniques and helpful hints will be discussed to increase the likelihood of successful gardening. Attendees will become well versed in beginning with packets of seeds and ending with a variety of vegetables.
UC Master Gardener Presenter Nick Landolfi: Nick is a Research Immunologist and lifelong gardener who became a Master Gardener upon his retirement from the biotechnology industry. He is a Soil Specialist, staffs the Master Gardener Helpline, and is a volunteer gardener at the Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center in Redwood City. He frequently lectures on Soil Science and Best Gardening Practices, and enjoys maintaining his vegetable beds, herb gardens, grape vines and fruit trees, as well as caring for a Japanese garden with a koi pond.
Registration is not required.
