SWEEP grants encourage producers to reduce both their water consumption and their greenhouse gas emissions. Successful applications must increase water efficiency and demonstrate the impact that the project will have on emissions.

The Healthy Soils Program encourages farmers to incorporate conservation agriculture techniques that improve their soil health and sequester carbon. It awards funds up to $100,000.

The Alternative Manure Management Program helps dairy and livestock producers decrease their manure-derived methane emissions by transitioning from one manure management system to another. It does not provide funds for the installation of an anaerobic digester. It awards funds up to $750,000.

Studies show that problem-solving, leadership, conflict resolution, teamwork, and the ability to follow directions are crucial 21st century skills. These skills are best learned in real world experiential ways. They cannot be taught so much as practiced.
