KARE has an onsite Sensory Lab that can be used for blind taste tests. It consist of five booths with a sliding access doors to pass samples through, a waiting area, and a prep area.

Kearney Research and Extension Center has a 105kW solar array that helps to offset thier energy usage. The Solar array was installed in three phases with a 20kW array installed in 2012, a 50kW array installed in 2015 and a 35kW array installed in 2016.

The citrus entomology lab focuses on research and extension on arthropod pests affecting citrus crop grown in the San Joaquin Valley. The goal of the program is to develop contemporary and sustainable pest management strategies for growers.
