I am frequently asked if I can recommend a book on Soils. And yes, I can. It is Soils: An Introduction by Michael Singer and Donald Munns. The sixth edition recently came out so there's a lot of older used copies floating around on the wed for under $10.

In response to concerns from the field about upcoming, overlapping organizational due dates and systems changes, UC ANR leadership has adjusted the timeline for the open Call for CE Positions. The timeframe for the final announcement of the CE positions to be released remains the same.

I wrote in a previous Newsletter article about some new research we are doing testing no-till drill seeded rice production. Why are we doing this? It is one way to save considerable amounts of irrigation water. We estimate that up to 0.5 ac ft/ac of water could be saved.
