It's Friday Fly Day! Time to post an image of a fly. Or two flies. On a cockroach. The scenario: a large cockroach drowned in a small water trough located near downtown Vacaville, Calif., and when the water drained, the roach slid out. It proved to be a feast for green bottle flies.

As a kid it was pretty common to get flat tires on the bike from puncturevine seed heads. Those spikes would also pierce the soles of tennis shoes and hobble me until I got a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the spike out of the shoe. NOW HEAR! There are some solutions to this terrible menace.
