The California Honey Festival is the place to "bee" on Saturday, May 6 in downtown Woodland. The festival, free and family friendly, takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event celebrates the importance of bees, and promotes honey and honey bees and their products.

You may be noticing white grubs in your compost piles, lawns, or garden beds. These white, c-shaped critters can be 1/4 inch long or 2 inches long, depending on the species.
There are 1,800 species of earthworms grouped into five families and distributed all over the world. Some grow as long as 3 feet, while others are only a few tenths of inches. We call them nightcrawlers, field worms, manure worms, red worms and some people just say "yuck.
