California is expecting another major storm beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 4, through Jan. 5. This storm is expected to bring rain statewide, with the highest rainfall totals and potential local flooding in Northern California.

So there it was...a monarch lying on its side, one wing down and one wing up, in the middle of a residential neighborhood in west Vacaville, California, on a 42-degree morning on Tuesday, Jan. 3. It looked newly emerged but it wasn't moving. In fact, it looked quite dead.

LastPass security breach announced

On Dec. 22, LastPass announced that late in 2022, a hacker was able to obtain customer information (company names, end-user names, billing addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and IP addresses) and full, encrypted vaults for many or all of its customers.

Pomegranate- winter’s gem

A few weeks ago, I was at Napa Valley College, near the theatre. I noticed some attractive, rounded, leafy shrubs covered with red flowers--in November! As I drew closer, I saw that the shrubs were actually covered with beautiful red pomegranates.
