Snap Peas

Snap peas (Pisum sativum var. macrocarpon) are my favorite cool-season vegetables to grow. Snap peas produce edible pods with sweet, plump, edible peas inside. In fact, all parts of the pea plant are edible, even the shoots and tendrils.

The other day I was having lunch with an acquaintance who is a rose grower and a rose scholar. I asked him a relatively nave question about fertilizers and he started on a very detail and succinct mini-lecture which was very convincing. And it was also very appreciated by me.

No Bohart Museum of Entomology Open House on March 21

The Bohart Museum of Entomology has postponed its Saturday, March 21 open house to comply with the new UC Davis policies regarding the coronavirus pandemic cautions. The open house was initially scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., and the theme centered on pollinators and microbes.
