About the Event
Come hear a wonderful presentation by UC Master Gardener Dawn Standke at the La Jolla Garden Club monthly meeting.
Do ancient myths have surprising connections to our favorite holiday traditions? What do turkey feet have to do with festive cactus? And what nearly wiped out the budding poinsettia industry?
Behind our beloved holiday traditions and festive plants are fascinating stories—some whimsical, some surprising, and a few with decidedly darker origins.
Join us for Master Gardener Dawn Standke’s entertaining presentation and discover the history, myths, mysteries, and unexpected stories hidden behind the plants that make the holidays special.
