About the Event

Cool-season vegetables are a smart choice—they are watered by winter rains, attract fewer pests, and require less effort overall. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to plant seedlings of cool season crops like salad greens, kale, chard, broccoli, cabbage, and more. We’ll also demonstrate how to start crops that are easily grown by planting seed directly into your garden beds: bok choy, carrots, turnips, peas, and more. September is late for seeding in pots. We will have a hands-on workshop of seeding fast-growing bok choi in 4-6 packs for attendees to take home. Bring a sun umbrella or hat, and join us for demonstrations in the garden
