CONFERENCE INVITATION LETTER
For Visa Application Support
Below we have outlined an invitational letter template that we will provide to our international attendees requiring a visa application after their submitted abstract has been accepted.
Please view the letter below. Fill in the information highlighted in yellow, and return this form to Dr. Nicki Frey (nicki.frey@usu.edu) with the email address of the receiving Visa agency. She will formalize the letter and send it to the necessary parties. This is information usually required by U.S. Visa applications; if you require additional information, please indicate this information with the completed form.
Additional Useful Information for International Participants
For Chilean Citizens: You do not need a visa - apply for ESTA online at least 72 hours before travel.
For all other South/Central American Citizens: Use this letter with your B-1 business visa application. Additional requirements may include:
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (Attendee Responsibility)
- Completed DS-160 form
- Valid passport (6+ months validity)
- This invitation letter
- Proof of financial resources (bank statements)
- Employment verification letter
- Evidence of ties to home country
- Conference registration confirmation
- Visa application fee payment
TIMING
- Apply 2-3 months before conference due to processing delays
- Schedule visa interview as soon as possible
- Some consulates have wait times of several weeks
