About

The California 4-H Youth Summits are three-day leadership development conferences usually hosted in four locations across the state.

In a safe camp-like atmosphere, 4-H’ers will:

  • Learn and practice personal leadership skills
  • Learn about career pathways and college
  • Build connections with 4-H members, volunteers, and staff throughout the area

Who should attend

Intermediate 4-H'ers (ages 11-13)

Mission

Youth Summit programs are designed to grow the leadership abilities of intermediate 4-H'ers (ages 11-13) and give hands-on leadership opportunities to senior 4-H'ers (ages 14+). Participants are mentored by senior 4-H'ers and caring adult volunteers. Younger members develop stronger relationships with their older peers as they both develop their leadership skills.

Education

Each year, our educational focus is based on a platform set by the California 4-H State Ambassadors.

Participants can choose several workshops to attend at the Youth Summit, with topics related to leadership, the forthcoming Youth Summit theme, and careers. When schedules are released in the fall, check out the pages for each event to see the list of workshops offered.

Planning Team

The Youth Summits are planned by a team of senior 4-H members (ages 14+), adult volunteers, and 4-H staff. They are responsible for making the Youth Summits informational, useful, and FUN!
