Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods launched its first UC Climate Steward Certification course in August 2022 for adults interested in climate science, interpretation, and action. Climate Stewards is an exciting new Initiative from the University of California Cooperative Extension in partnership with the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods. In this program you will learn more about the science of climate change, how to communicate more effectively about this issue, and how to help your community adapt to climate challenges.

The extended 10-week course combines online classes with guest experts and three Saturday’s learning and experiencing climate-relevant sites in Sonoma County; and will complete online coursework and a final capstone project to receive your certification from the University of California. In this interactive course you will practice the skills you need to work with others on finding climate solutions.

Dates: May 15 - July 24, 2024

Fees: $350 for non-members, $280 for members, $175 for active volunteers
