The UC California Naturalist program emerged from efforts by members of the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems Initiative and represents a statewide public education and volunteer program for UCANR focused on natural resources. Certified California Naturalists are engaged in stewardship of California’s natural ecosystems throughout the State. The UC California Naturalist program is designed to introduce Californians to the wonders of our unique natural communities and the resource management issues we face. The program uses a science curriculum, hands-on learning, citizen science, and community service to instill a deep appreciation for the natural communities of the state. Get involved by taking a class, sharing citizen science opportunities, offering advanced trainings, and attending the 2016 statewide conference.
