The Office of the President invites comments on a proposed revised Presidential Policy on Native American Cultural Affiliation and Repatriation (“Revised Policy”).
The Policy revises the existing Policy and Procedures on Curation and Repatriation of Human Remains and Cultural Items (“Current Policy”). It pertains to the treatment and repatriation of Native American and Native Hawaiian human remains and cultural items under the University's stewardship and the University's compliance with the federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (“NAGPRA”). The U.S. Department of Education recently released proposed Title IX rules primarily addressing how schools must respond to sexual harassment, including sexual assault. To ensure those comments are informed by the views of the UC community, UC requests your input on the proposed rules.

Effective June 22, 2018, California prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to Oklahoma as a result of discriminatory legislation Oklahoma signed into law on May 11, 2018, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced.
Oklahoma joins Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas on the list of states subject to Assembly Bill 1887 travel prohibitions.

In 2017, ANR learned valuable lessons amid events within the UC Office of the President making necessary our examination of policy and procedures regarding University-purchased portable electronics.
