As previously announced in ANR Update (December 13, 2011), ANR will be soliciting proposals for CE advisor and specialist positions. This supplemental call aims to address programmatic gaps that were not previously identified or that have arisen since last year’s process. As VP Allen-Diaz announced in ANR Update (Jan. 24, 2012), ANR is soliciting proposals for CE advisor and specialist positions.
The call is posted on a publicly accessible site, http://ucanr.org/callforpositions, to promote internal consultation and external input from ANR stakeholders.
To encourage collaboration and reduce duplication of proposals, a searchable online database of positions has been created. Letters of Intent for ANR’s 2012 competitive grants program are due Friday, Feb. 17. The submission system will close automatically at 11:59 p.m., Feb. 17.
Applicants who are selected to submit a full proposal will be notified by Monday, March 5. The LOIs that are approved will be posted for online viewing. Full proposals will be due Friday, April 13.

Dear Colleagues,
I’m pleased to announce that Steve Szalay will be working with me to develop and implement multi-county partnerships.
Steve has accepted a one-year contract starting this week as a special assistant, based at the ANR building in Davis.
We are very fortunate and excited to have Steve Szalay (pronounced ZAY- lee) join ANR as we transition to MCPs. He served for 10 years as executive director of the California State Association of Counties.
Steve brings to ANR a wealth of knowledge and his personal relationships with most of the administrators and many county Board of Supervisor members across California. His job will be to help facilitate the formation of identified MCPs,...
