Dave Krause's birthday is April 27th, I think he turned 32 this year.
In the Web Action Team, we make an attempt to do something for everyone's birthday- usually we go together to get a lunch. Nothing fancy, but usually entertaining and relaxing. So on Dave's birthday we ended up going to In-N-Out Burger.
We ended up at In-n-Out because last week I told Bryon that I would gladly buy his lunch anytime (every day in fact)- if it consisted of a 3x3 burger, fries and a shake at In-n-Out.
No, this is not me being nice, not at all. My real goal is to give up the title of, "The biggest guy in WAT." And surprisingly it looks like Bryon is the only one who wants to steal my crown. If it costs me a few hundred burgers to become the, 'Second biggest guy in WAT,' I will gladly pay up.
So we ended up at In-n-Out on Dave's birthday.
Bryon and Dave prepping their burgers.
I told Bryon I would buy him a 3x3 as part of my plan to fatten him up. So then Dave wanted a 3x3...which means I had to do the same.
Unfortunately, my plan is not as good as I initially thought.
I'm not exactly sure how Bryon will ever pass me by in shirt size if *I* eat the 3x3 too...but I'm not one to skip out on a mound of meat and cheese. (Which is probably why I am currently the fattest man in WAT.)
Bryon's burger looks nice and pretty. There is a 3rd patty hidden under that cheese.
Bryon doesn't get onions on his burger- which is surprising to me, because in my mind the onions are the best part of In-n-Out.
We tried to get Bryon to order a 4x4, and a shake. This would have gone a LONG way toward my goal of fattening him up like a Christmas goose. Here's the caloric breakdown of the 4x4 and shake 'meal'. (courtesy Dave)
Double Double w/ Onions - 670 calories
Difference between single and double - 190 calories
Quad Quad (double with two extra patties) - 1050
Fries - 400 calories
Shake (chocolate or strawberry) - 690 calories
Grand Total = 2140 calories!
Look Bryon- you could easily handle one more patty!
But in the inimitable Bryon fashion, he did not waver one bit- and stuck with the 3x3. (Later on today I am going to convince him to go to Thrifty's for some ice cream. A triple scoop of Chocolate Malted Crunch would help my plan along.)
It's like that tomato was made for this burger
Here's Dave's burger- with onions. Now this is what a 3x3 should look like! Grilled onions mixed with the funky cheese and meat...surrounded by a piece of lettuce and tomato so you can pretend that it's good for you.
Dave needs a haircut
So you may be wondering- "What about Alex? How does he stay so thin?"
Well, here is Alex's GRILLED CHEESE sandwich. No meat at all! In fact, he complained that even this was, "a little greasy."
It takes a lot longer to get to heaven when you eat this way
So there it was. Dave's birthday lunch at In-n-Out.
Bryon wouldn't eat a 4x4, but some ice cream later will work the same effect. Dave likes onions, and Alex is afraid of meat altogether.
And me?
I'm already looking forward to dinner.
