Screening

After your job has closed and been taken off the web, you can begin screening your applicants. You will need to review each applicants materials and decide on your interview pool. When it comes time to screen the applications use the TAM Candidate Disposition Spreadsheet.

Interviewing

Your HR Analyst will contact you when you are approved to begin the interview process. It is recommended that you review the Interview Guidelines as it contains detailed information about each step of the interviewing process.

Closing Your Recruitment

Once your HR Analyst and Affirmative Action have completed their review of the selected candidate, your HR Analyst will send you a message instructing you to begin conducting a reference check for your selected candidate.

Conditions of Employment

After your selected candidate has been approved by Affirmative Action, your HR Analyst will begin working on a salary offer. For most positions, this salary offer will need to be approved by Senior Management before making the verbal offer.

Background Check

Screening new hires is an important part of onboarding. Background checks are conducted to ensure the continuing safety of our workforce, constituencies and community members, and security of University resources.

DMV

The Employer Pull Notice Program is a system which allows employers to monitor their employees' driving records. Whenever an enrolled employee has an action taken against his/her driving record (e.g. ticket, accident, suspension, renewal, etc) the DMV notifies the employer.

Pre-Placement Physical

Pre-Placement Medical Pre-placement medical examinations are required of all hires for select positions to protect the new employee from possible work related health problems and to protect the University from liability issues.

New Hire Paperwork

Download the Staff New Hire Checklist and work with your employee to complete the new hire paperwork as soon as you receive approval from HR. The paperwork listed in the Staff New Hire Checklist is required to be completed on or before the first day of employment, unless otherwise noted.
