4-H Youth Development Program

Welcome to the Colusa County 4-H Youth Development Program!

The Colusa County 4-H Program currently serves approximately 380 youth annually. We have 3 different types of 4-H programming for our youth, club programming, after school and in-school enrichment. Find out more by exploring our website to see what we have to offer!

4-H Mission

The mission of 4-H is to help young people develop their potential. This is done by encouraging them to participate in practical real-life experiences. As a result of this involvement, members should be better able to lead satisfying lives as responsible, self-directed members of society.

4-H Pledge

I pledge my head to clearer thinking,

My heart to greater loyalty.

My hands to larger service.

And my health to better living

for my club, my community, my

country and my world.

4-H Motto

The 4-H motto is to "Make The Best Better" which means to always try your hardest and to always look for ways to improve.

4-H Clover

logo

The 4-H Emblem is a four-leaf clover that has an "H" on each leaf, representing Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.

The clover is green to symbolize growth and youth, and the white color of the H's represents sincerity and honesty.

The clover was adopted in 1909 and National 4-H has a policy about the proper use of the clover to help preserve its special character.

Additional information on using the 4-H logo can be found here: Using the 4-H Name and Emblem
