Since its official dedication in 1965 Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center (KARE) has achieved international acclaim for leadership in the development of new fruit, nut, and grape varieties, innovative cultural and irrigation practices, pest and disease management techniques, and postharvest biology. In addition, KARE plays a leadership role in maintaining the quality of California's rural environment, with programs in air and water quality, and mosquito management. BUILDING RESILIENT CROP SYSTEMS AND PRACTICES FOR EXTREME AND VARIABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY
Join UCCE Specialists Daniele Zaccaria, Lauren Hale, and Tapan Pathak, UCCE Advisors Michael Cahn, Jhalendra Rijal, Abdelmoneim Zakaria Mohamed, and Justin D. Tanner in an in-person Workshop on
“Building Resilient Grapevine Systems to Extreme and Variable Weather in the Central Valley” to learn about the latest research and advances in Weather-Adaptive Production Practices for Grapevine.
Topics include: Extreme Weather Trends and Impacts, Weather-related Challenges for Nut Crop Production, Inaccuracy and Errors of Satellite-derived ET Estimates for Nut Crops, Effects of Whole Orchard Recycling on Soil Fertility for Nut Crops. A set of information and tools available to manage weather-related risks will also be presented during the Workshop.
Registration fee is $20 per person and includes participation in the thematic sessions, coffee break, lunch box meal, workshop materials, and access to the workshop presentations.
