Agriculture is a vital part of the economy in Ventura County.
U.C. Cooperative Extension in Ventura County is working to keep agriculture sustainable by solving short-and long-term challenges including:
- plant nutrition
- plant pests and diseases
- water quality use and conservation
- new crop and plant variety introductions
- improved cultivation practices.
The Western Extension Sustainability Summit report came out this this week in Rural Connections a publication of the Western Rural Development Center. It addresses sustainability issues of climate, land, water, food and energy.
