UC ANR Innovate

The missing link in California's agricultural innovation
California leads the world in agricultural research and production. But between the lab and the field, too much gets lost. UC ANR Innovate brings together the people, resources, and infrastructure to move good ideas from breakthrough to impact. Learn about our approach.
Our Work
UC ANR Connect
Connecting startups, growers, and early-stage founders through field days, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations that help move technology from prototype to adoption. Our flagship applied innovation pipeline is guided by an Industry Advisory Board representing 23 commodities across 16 counties. Through UC ANR Connect, growers see emerging technologies firsthand at UC Research and Extension Centers across California, while founders refine their solutions with direct input from the people who will use them.
Farm Robotics Challenge
A national competition engaging student teams in designing robotic solutions to real-world agricultural challenges, building the workforce and technologies agriculture needs.
The Plant
A planned innovation center providing shared, pilot-scale infrastructure for controlled environment agriculture, food innovation, and biomanufacturing.
BioCircular Valley
A research initiative transforming agricultural waste into valuable products, fuels, and materials across California's North San Joaquin Valley.
California AgTech Alliance
A statewide partnership coordinating commercialization, workforce development, and ecosystem building across nine California regions. Funded by a $15.1 million California Jobs First award.
