
The UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County extend research-based knowledge and information to non-commercial home gardeners through our numerous projects. Many of our projects are uniquely created and managed by us, and many others are done in partnership with community organizations. Examples of our educational outreach projects include our many demonstration gardens, library and community educational talks, events such as succulent swaps and children’s field trips, our information help desk, farmers market info tables, wreath making workshops and much more.

UC Master Gardener Information Help Desk

Monthly UC Master Gardener Email Newsletter
We create and share a monthly email newsletter providing timely gardening best practices and a list of upcoming classes and events. Sign up to receive it!

Demonstration Gardens
We have a number of demonstration gardens throughout the county. Our goal in these demonstration gardens is to showcase the best practices for home gardeners, including fruit trees, edible gardens, sustainable garden practices, low water use gardens and California native landscapes.
Events and Classes
We create and host many events and classes on a wide variety of gardening topics. These are held at venues throughout the county.

Find our upcoming events by clicking here. We have a longstanding partnership with the Sonoma County Library and offer lectures at branches around the County. We also often hold events at our demonstration gardens.
Farmers' Market Information Tables
Our Master Gardener volunteers are present at a number of the many different farmers markets held throughout Sonoma County each week, generally spring through fall, where we set up an information table stocked with county-specific gardening leaflets for the public. Garden Sense Home Garden Consultation Program
Garden Sense is a partnership program with Sonoma Water where we offer home consultations on landscape water conservation including lawn removal, irrigation conversation and low water use plant suggestions.
Propagation for Education
Our Propagation for Education team is housed at Tierra Farms on Airport Boulevard; the team hosts succulent sales & swaps around the County. Click here to learn more about our Propagation for Education Program.
School Garden Support

Sonoma County Fair
Sonoma County Fair: Each year, the UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County have an opportunity to share with Sonoma County gardeners sustainable gardening practices integrated into practical demonstration at the County Fair.
Speakers Bureau
Our UC trained and certified garden experts are available to speak to organizations on topics related to home horticulture, pest management and sustainable landscape practices. Click here to request a speaker for your organization: Speakers bureau
Sudden Oak Death Group
Sudden Oak Death is a program funded by the US Forest Service; we conduct an annual citizen science Blitz to track the spread of SOD in Sonoma County.

Demonstration Gardens

Our demonstration gardens showcase best practices for home gardeners and are open to the public (days and hours vary by location).
You're invited to visit, have a look around, and ask questions when we're working in the garden. We also hold occasional classes, events, and plant sales at some of our locations (see our Calendar for upcoming events).
