FREE Virtual 2020 UC Master Gardener Mini Conference
Save the date for the 2020 UC Master Gardener Virtual Conference! This FREE virtual mini-conference will take place September 29 – October 1 and is open to the general public. All levels of gardeners are welcome!
We will be streaming LIVE to the UC Master Gardener YouTube channel and Facebook page, just pick the platform you prefer. Master Gardener volunteers can earn continuing education hours. Registration is not required, just pick and choose what sessions you would like to attend. All session are being recorded and posted on YouTube but we hope you can join in LIVE.

The State of California has issued a shelter-in-place order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the Master Gardener Program, UC Fresno/ Madera program is now working remotely. We are still here to answer your questions and address needs during this unprecedented situation, however no public gardening classes or workshops are offered at this time.

"Due to uncertainty with the Coronavirus pandemic, the planned 2021 Fresno/Madera County Master Gardener training class has been canceled.   Our next series of training classes will begin in January 2023, with an on-line application window opening in June 2022.  Please continue your interest in our program and in gardening.  We will look forward meeting you then!

Integrated Pest Management
What is happening to these apples?
This photo is representative of a problem a Fresno County Master Gardener is having with apples from one of her trees. After several questions were exchanged with members of the Fresno County Master Gardener Integrated Pest Management (IPM) team, it was determined that further research was necessary. A visit to the California state IPM website revealed the problem and what to do about it:
This is a great example how pest problems can be identified, discussed, and remedies provided via a multitude of IPM techniques!
