Composting Basics:
Learn about how to compost at home! Reduce your carbon footprint and recycle your waste by composting your organic waste at home. This workshop will focus on backyard composting of yard trimmings and food scraps. Finally, learn about compost application - your soil will thank you!
Worm Composting & Composting for Small Spaces:
Learn about using worms to recycle your food waste into a slow-release fertilizer! This workshop is best for those living in multifamily units or other homes without yard waste. Recycling your food waste reduces greenhouse gas emissions and is fantastic for your garden and house plants.
Composting Systems
Through the County of Santa Clara, our program offers discounted composting bins, either backyard bins or worm bins, to Santa Clara County residents who attend our workshops. We are currently distributing a backyard compost system, the FreeGarden EARTH, to all who qualify. We are currently out of stock on Worm bins and do not have an ETA for a replacement.
