What’s the difference between Raster and Vector graphics?

It's often hard to see the difference between "raster" and "vector" graphics when they are are used at small sizes. However, when you use a graphic at a large size the difference can become more apparent.
- Raster file types become pixelated (fuzzy) when enlarged too much.
- Vector file types maintain smooth, sharp edges no matter how big you use them.
File types with transparent backgrounds

When you want to put a logo over a colored background or photograph, use a file format that has a transparent background. In PowerPoint and Word, PNG files are perfect for this.
