Service Learning Project
The 2025-26 Ambassador Team would like to introduce Voices of Valor - stories collected by Fresno County 4-H Members, as their Service Learning Project. If you’re 13 or older, you can take part in interviewing a veteran and learning about their time in service—while building confidence, communication skills, and leadership along the way. Not quite 13 yet? No problem! Youth 12 and under can still be part of the project with a parent or guardian by their side, so families are encouraged to join in together. The Ambassador team is hosting an informational workshop on Tuesday, March 24th, offering training on the interview process, how to develop active listening skills, and provide the guidelines and questions to be asked of the veterans. The first interviews will take place on Saturday, April 4th at The Fairwinds Retirement Center. Details will be announced at the workshop. Our goal is to compile a spiral bound book showcasing stories and distribute them locally to veteran facilities, veterans families, and friends. Register by March 22nd for this workshop held at the UCCE Fresno office. Email questions to voicesofvalor4H@gmail.com.

The 2023-24 Ambassador Team collectively chose three organizations to support with the collection of "Bravery Bags". Their service learning project is in partnership with Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Valley Children's Hospital, The Neurology Department at Valley Children’s Hospital, and Golden State Family Services Foster Care. Our team goal is to collect and donate 100 bravery bags to each organization, which will be 300 bags in total. ~ Brianna M., Miranda M. & Asa C.
