Winter Garden Talks

The UC Master Gardeners of Butte County are offering a morning of winter-related garden talks. The talks are free of charge, but registration is required. Each talk is limited to 15 participants.

Location: Chapman Park Teaching Garden  at the Dorothy F. Johnson Center

Winter Planting and Seed Starting
This workshop will focus on sowing vegetables and herbs directly in the garden during the winter months and starting seeds indoors in preparation for spring planting. You’ll discover what to plant by learning to read the information printed on seed packets, using the Chico Valley Area Planting Guide, and becoming familiar with first and last frost dates in Chico.
