Elkus Ranch hosts a volunteer day on one Saturday per month from 9-noon. Interested volunteers need to register to participate. Volunteers do a variety of activities to keep the animals happy and the Ranch beautiful such as mucking stalls, painting, cleaning, or weeding. Everyone will get to interact with the animals and feed them some treats before we are done for the day.
We accept volunteers as young as 10 but please remember that anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers will need to provide a signed waiver to participate.
Weather at Elkus Ranch can be variable - be prepared by dressing in layers with a hat - closed toe shoes are required. And bring a refillable water bottle and snacks if needed.
The volunteer team convenes above the visitor parking area at 9am for stretches before getting to work. You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy in our picnic area when we are finished at noon.

Interested in long-term volunteer work, service learning or internship opportunities?
We encourage folks who want to have a longer-term, weekly volunteer schedule to show up for monthly volunteer days before discussing how it might work with our staff. We have worked with pre-veterinary students, vet tech students, and high school students for their school's service-learning requirements.
