Returning Volunteers - Welcome Back to 4-H
Thank you for your continued support as a 4-H adult volunteer. As a volunteer, you play an important role in the development of young people, helping them to identify their spark and develop the skills and positive outcomes that lead to thriving. Below are the steps to being reappointed as a volunteer. We look forward to working with you as a valuable asset to the 4-H Youth Development Program.
1. Update your ZSuite profile
Login to ZSuite to update your profile for the new year. Please make sure the email address in Zsuite is correct and one you check regularly.
Required forms linked from ZSuite are NOT accessible on Safari on iPhones or Macbooks.
Log into your household account in ZSuite, access your adult profile using your PIN, and click “Enroll for 2026-2027.” Please make sure your email address in ZSuite is correct and one you check regularly.
You will be asked to choose a Primary Unit. This is the club that you have chosen to be your 4-H home base. Select one for now, you can always change it later.
Adult Volunteers do not need to add a project. If you are going to be a project leader, your project will be added to ZSuite once your membership is made active and your Annual Project Plan has been submitted to the 4-H Office. See Sample Annual Project Plan. Projects can be added at any time through the year.
Once you click submit you will receive an email confirmation that your application has been received and is waiting for approval. Your 4-H enrollment status will show as pending until all enrollment steps are completed and reviewed by the 4-H office.
2. Complete Campus course
Returning adult volunteers must complete an annual refresher course. The course is designed to remind volunteers about the mission of California 4-H and to cover materials mandated by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA).
CANRA for Volunteers (30 minutes)
4-H Vision & Impact (5 minutes)
- Enrollment key: Nevada
3. Pay program enrollment fee
Submit your $28 adult registration fee online with a credit card or to the county 4-H office with cash or check. Checks made payable to U.C. Regents. NOTE: $3.00 processing fee added for credit cards.

Step 4: Submit a Project Plan (For Project Leaders Only)
If you are a 4-H Project Leader, your last step is to submit a project plan for each project that you will be leading. Once your project plan has been approved, your project will be added to ZSuite for members to join.
DOWNLOAD PROJECT PLAN TEMPLATE and email completed plan to jcsimmons@ucdavis.edu. See Sample Annual Project Plan.
Step 5: Enrollment Completion
After your county 4-H office reviews the enrollment, you will receive an email sent to your Family email account to confirm your enrollment status as Active. Once your enrollment is active, you may begin 4-H activities! You may access your 4-H profile at any time of the year to change what projects you are involved in, update your health information, etc. Note: The project leader and second adult for the project must complete enrollment before their project will be made available to members.
NOTE: If you have a break in service
If you have a break in service as a 4-H volunteer please follow the process for a New Volunteer
